In an clash of machines lasting up to 61 minutes Stuermer engaged at least 11 British units while moving through the frontlines. During this this harrowing tank versus tank confrontation Stuermer killed 11 and reports afterwards say he was posted as Returned to Base.

Officials of the German Armoured Command said today that this kind of heroic effort and skilled combat remains an example to all soldiers on the battlefield as they steel their esolve to move forwards to victory.

German military officials recognized Stuermer for an outstanding effort on Juni 8th. Stuermer killed 2 enemy units and attacked multiple targets during a mission that lasted 21 minutes long. After the mission, he was listed as Killed in Action
