    WWII.EXE patch

    Windows version 1.19.1 only

A small number of players have been unable to log in to the game at all since 1.19, having the game freeze at the initial "Loading" screen, and then exit, typically with a message "Login handshake timed out".

We weren't able to replicate this issue, so thanks to Hattrick and Ishmom we've been able to track the cause down and produce a solution.

As this has been affecting you for several weeks, we've decided to release a hotfix for those of you who can't for 1.19.2 to get some game time.

The hotfix (replacement ww2.exe) can be downloaded via this link. BitTorrent also available (see end of post)

Click on the link and choose to "Open" the file. Once it has downloaded a new window should appear listing a single file, "WW2.exe". Copy the this file to your "c:\playnet\crs\ww2ol\" or game installation directory.

If you still receive the error "Login handshake timed out" you will need to request further assistance with installing the executable, as the new build now has a different message for this error.

We can now redouble our efforts investigating and resolving the CTHL issue other users are experiencing after launching or reaching heavily populated areas.

"never touch a running system"
